The Pantheon

The Crypt

We walked downstairs to the crypt, the final resting place of many great men and women.  Rousseau was along the right wall as we entered, Voltaire faced him across the hall.  Also buried here are scientist Marie Curie and her husband Pierre, Victor Hugo (Les Miserables, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame),  Alexandre Dumas (The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo),  and Louis Braille, who invented the script for the blind.
