The best smelling museum in Paris

The Fragonard, a perfume museum is housed in a beautiful 19th--century mansion designed by Charles Garnier, the same architect who designed the Paris Opera House.  We went in and had to wait a few minutes for our English speaking guide, Sara.   She was adorable and spoke excellent English.  She told us all about how the perfume is made, all the steps, about all the large copper containers, and all the exquisite perfume bottles down through the centuries.  Perfume was first used for embalming, then for medicinal purposes, then for social reasons.  We played a little game where we had to guess the fragrances and match them to their picture.  Tom and I did fairly well, except we missed passion fruit. But we got rose, coconut, lavender, strawberry, pineapple, licorice and lemon.  Next we proceeded downstairs to the store.  Sara gave us several samples to smell, but after two or three, my nose quit working.  We bought a sampler of my favorite fragrances.
