Sunday in the Park

We got some mail the other day announcing a concert in Georges Bressens Park (our neighborhood park just down the street) on Sunday.  Some would have considered it junk mail, but we get so little mail, we read every word.  It said something in French about  musical groups, even one from Texas!  The weather was beautiful, but there was a fifty percent chance of rain.  So umbrellas in hand we set out for the park.  The book sellers were back in the park and a small brass combo was set up in the corner.  We wandered about and looked at the books a bit and walked out into the park area.  Wow!  This was a beautiful park we had never taken advantage of before.

The people were really enjoying the sunny day.  We heard more music and walked over to investigate.  It was a huge band of high school students from Houston, Texas!  A little piece of home.  They were the Texas Ambassadors of Music on tour playing several concerts in Europe.  They drew a huge crowd and played wonderful toe tapping music.  They even played "Deep in the Heart of Texas", be still my heart.  Such fun and so good to hear this lively group.  Well, the clouds are gathering and the wine is calling, so back to home for us.

  1. That looks like a super fun trip to the park. Your pictures from the airshow are really cool. How many people do you know who have been to the Paris Air Show? Even Walt, mr Airplane, hasn't been to that!
