Sunrise Over the Tetons and a Day in Jackson Hole

Tom got up really early, I mean really early, before sunrise so he could capture the sunrise over the Grand Tetons and he did!

It was a little cloudy this morning but he still got some spectacular pictures.

Then, that prince of a guy came back and prepared us a magnificent breakfast!  A hardy mountain menu of bacon, eggs, toast and coffee.

Am I lucky or what!

Next stop,  Jackson Hole.

I can see why people love to go to Jackson Hole (Jackson is the town and Jackson Hole is the town and surrounding area).   It’s a fantastic town with lots to see and do.

Of course, we had to have our picture taken under one of the  Elk Antler Arches on each corner of the main town square.

Masked up, we went into a few stores to admire the beautiful high end items offered in this fancy little town.

We decided to drive from Jackson north up into the Grand Teton National Park to gather some ideas from the Information Center.  On the way up we got a spectacular view of the Tetons from the East side.  From our apartment we see them from the West side.

The difference is the East side still has snow with none on the West.

After gathering the information we needed and some maps of the park we headed back towards Jackson.

Tom’s daughter,  Joanna, worked at the Mangy Moose one summer during her college days.  We went to Teton Village to see if it was still there,

and it was!

The best views are from the top of the mountain, so we decided to take the gondola ride to the top.

It was a fabulous panoramic view of the mountains and the town below.

We shared a “Snake River Brew” and enjoyed the view.

On the can, it said, “ put our river through your liver.”

A couple of interesting sights we saw today included a group of rafting bears

and an old, old drive in theater called The Spud—what else would you call it in Idaho?

Another great day with 80 degree weather!
