Another Beautiful Day in Crested Butte

After a delicious “mountain breakfast” courtesy of Tom, the day was right for a walk.  We are still huffing  and puffing due to the thin air, but it’s getting better.  It was a delightful walk and we need to do it over and over.  We have met some of the nicest people on our walks.

After a fun FaceTime video call with Brian, Caroline, Rebecca and Grayson and a quick lunch we’re off again.

Yesterday, when we were at the ski base, everything was shut down.  Today, we went to downtown  Crested Butte and it was hoppin’!

People were out enjoying the sunshine, shopping, eating and having fun.

Again, the hanging baskets were plentiful and gorgeous.

Crested Butte is home to a brand new creative arts building and it is stunning.  Someone knew what they were doing when they choose the exterior color.

We made a stop at a car wash to clear off the dust from yesterday’s “car hike.”
Tonight, we were invited to Don and Vivian’s house in Gunnison for appetizers and drinks before going to Almont, a small town on the Gunnison River for dinner.

Last night, I was outside in search of the Noewise comet.  Unfortunately, I didn’t see the comet but I did get a great picture of Mount Crested Butte with Saturn shining down on it.
Another great day!
