A Day in Seattle

Today, we were not awakened  by an alarm clock, the sunshine, even a rooster.  We were awakened by squawking  seagulls!

Loudly squawking seagulls at that!

The first time was 5am and we were able to go back to sleep.  The second time was about 7am and it was time to get up anyway.

Since we are in an apartment in the heart of Seattle, we parked our car in a parking garage several blocks away still loaded with most of our stuff. So we went to check on it—all was well.

Next stop  a grocery store.  Time to lay in a few supplies for Seattle.  We found a nice, small, close to the apartment store, just right for the few things we needed and easy to carry.

After putting the groceries away we walked back to the Pike Place Market area looking for a seafood lunch spot.

We checked out a few before selecting Lowell’s.

Perfect choice.  This is only the third place we’ve eaten inside in 4 weeks.

The tables were social distanced and hand sanitizer was everywhere.

The lunches were delicious and very satisfying and filling.  Tom had the seafood Louie salad

and I had the grilled king salmon special.

From our water view table, we could see the Ferris Wheel.

We are big fans of Ferris Wheels after riding one in Paris and in London.  Now, we’ll add Seattle.

The ride provided a great show and outstanding views!  The Space Needle Could be seen in the distance.

As well as CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Sounders Soccer Club and T-Mobile Park, home of the Mariners and Mount Rainier.

A view of Puget Sound,

and Pier 59 with the Seattle Aquarium.

We walked back past Miner’s Landing

and through the Pike Place Market.  Pike Place Fish Co. is where they throw the fish, but not now due to Covid.

Place Pigalle is a restaurant where we could have have had lunch, but didn’t.  We just liked their sign!

A walk back to the apartment finished our tour of Seattle for today.
