Lunch with Michele and Friends

It's Father's Day and Michele invited us to her apartment in the Belleville section of Paris for lunch today.  In addition to us, there was her son, Stephane, friends, Nadine, Inge, and Bridget--a very congenial group.

Michele owns a nice one bedroom apartment, with a lovely balcony.

The lunch  was a typical Moroccan meal.  Inge brought a wine from Germany that was a nice accompaniment to the appetizers.  We started with a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes.  The main dish was presented in a tangine and it was a masterpiece!

There were lots of vegetables and chicken.  It was a delicious meal enjoyed by all.  Then there was a large variety of desserts, yummy French pastries.  Stephane did a beautiful job of serving some Moroccan tea.

Such a nice meal with friends.

Later we decided we should walk our meal off.  Michele recommended we go to Parc de Belleville.

The weather is perfect and the people are out in droves enjoying the day.

There are great views of the city.

I am so taken with all the street art in Paris--it's everywhere!

Here are several representative pieces, plus one in progress and the finished product.

One street--Belleville  City is known for its graffiti or street art.

We also passed the bistro where Edith Piaf and other French entertainers often performed.

We said our "thank yous" and our "good byes" and headed to the Metro after a wonderful day!
