A Rainy day at Le Forum Mall and the Pompidou Center

A real bonus came with this  apartment--a housekeeper!  Anna arrives promptly at 10:00am on Monday morning.  We try to get out of her way so she can do her job.  However, today is one of those 100% all day rainy days.  Looking for something to do inside, we head to the Forum at Les Halles (pronounced- le all). This is a huge new modern mall, good for window shopping.  There are many stores of all types inside.  The roof over the open air part is built in such a way that it will catch the rain.

We are always glad to see these guys walking around.

The security is very tight, for good reason and makes us feel better when we're out and about.  We have to show the contents of our bag even going into the mall.  Tom's had about all the mall time he can handle so we move on.
Just a couple of blocks away is the  Pompidou Center.  The lines to get in are almost around the building.  We opt for just taking pictures outside.

There's the fabulous Caulder mobile,

the fountain art,

as well as some wall art.

Around the corner we see our favorite grocery store, Carrefour!

We head for home in the rain and Tom makes us a yummy ham and Brie sandwich on a baguette for lunch.

The rest of the day is dedicated to naps, reading and a little TV in French.
