Bastille Day--Part 2

Dinner and Fireworks

Our friend, Soleil lives on the eighth floor of her apartment building with stupendous views of the city.  She and her mother, who is visiting from Equador, invited us, along with Donna and Michele for dinner and to watch the fireworks.

They served a very International dinner.  Appetizers were from the Middle East, plus guacamole and sausages.  She served a green salad with figs and bleu cheese.  The main course was arros con pollo, all so good.  We took an apple tart and ice cream for dessert.

She has the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and we thought her balcony would be the ideal place to see the fireworks show.  We watched the tower twinkle for thirty minutes in anticipation of the fireworks.

When the first explosion went off, we realized our view was partially blocked by office buildings.  We watched for a few minutes and then dashed down to the Seine for a better view.  The fireworks pictures are of the actual event, but not our photos.
