Tom scheduled this tour for us a year ago, when we decided to take this trip. We met at the appointed time and place on Thursday morning. There were supposed to be 8 on our bus for the day. There were 2 couples from Detroit and Tom & me. There were 2 young men waiting with us who were hoping to get on the tour if the others did not show up. Our guide, Dominique, said we had to wait until 8:30. 8:30 came, two no shows, so the guys were in. The two young men, Brian & Taylor were recent graduates from the US Naval Academy. We were very fortunate to have them along with us. Small world, Brian is from the Lake Highlands area of Dallas and Taylor is from Miami.
We hop on the bus and Dominique takes us to our first stop, Omaha Beach.
