I've looked forward to the Paris flea market ever since we planned this trip. So today was finally the day. We hopped on old 95, our usual bus route, but in a new direction. We have never been south of our apartment. It wasn't very far to the location, and on Sat. morning, the bus wasn't crowded. As soon as we got off the bus, we could see all the tents set up just a few steps from the stop. We walked in that direction and could see the tents seemed to go on forever. My first impression was that it was like a giant French estate sale. We wandered for about two and a half hours and really didn't see anything we couldn't do without, unusual, I know. There was a little bit of everything. If you were a collector, I'm sure you would have found lots of stuff. But we also have to think about carrying what we buy. There are several flea markets in Paris and I'm sure we'll hit others. Unfortunately, this one was somewhat of a disappointment and we thought the prices were rather high. Some of what we saw was lots of flatware, glassware, old keys, old artwork, posters, books, family pictures, buttons, pins, jewelry, silver items and a stuffed fox as part of a standing ashtray. I was somewhat tempted by that! The tents went on and on, to the point that we got dizzy from all there was to see, and we finally left without seeing it all.
Looks like fun. Sorry you didn't find anything but you still have 2.5 more months to look!
