A WINE TASTING WITH LUNCH AT THE CAIO RISTORANTE OF THE CASTELLO DI CORBARA WINERY

This was a real treat! Angelo arranged for us to have a wine tasting that included a fabulous lunch and a tour of the winery and the vineyards. Associated with the winery was an agritourismo restaurant called Caio.

The grounds were pristine and very well groomed.

We were seated at a nice round table in the corner with beautiful views. And the food began.

There were 2 bottles of wine with every course. That's a lot of wine! They gave us eight bottles but we were only able to consume five so we brought three bottles home.

The food and wine were both delicious! We managed to consume a large quanity of both.

What's wine tasting without a trip to the production area? One last look at the view from the restaurant, then we drove the short distance to the winery.

Giovanni took us through the production process.

All very interesting. He also took us to the vineyards to see the grapes.

This was one of our favorite days, even though we didn't see a single old church or museum. It was a great day!
