The green door is on the street and opens into a garden courtyard area.
The next door is into the building (and shows the date it was built) and the third is the apartment door.
There is an IKEA kitchen, compact and complete.
A living dining room combo-- open concept to the kitchen.
Bright, spick and span bath and a comfy little bedroom with a closet.
It's our home for 6 days.
The weather is perfect, sunshine and 51 degrees when we woke, and 65 when we hit the streets via the #25 bus. Today is just right for the "Hop on-Hop off" bus.The top deck is perfect for taking pictures and reacquainting ourselves with London You can see most of the highlights of the city on the tour. First landmark, St. Paul's Cathedral.
Then we drove by the tall structure on Tower Hill where Samuel Pepys (of diary fame) climbed to the top to view the burning of London in 1666.
We drove right across Tower Bridge--what a spectacular sight!
Then we saw the "London Eye". There will be more about that later when we take the ride. Can't wait!
Next, was Westminster and the magnificent Westminster Abbey. So much history there, it takes books to tell the story.
We hopped off for lunch. Sharing an order of fish and chips and a chicken and mushroom pie, very English and satisfying.
Since we were so close to Victoria Station we picked up some train tickets we'll need in Scotland. That chore done, back to the bus.
Next was the Royal Muse at Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth keeps her horses.
On to Hyde Park, passed the Sherlock Holmes museum, Madame Tussaud's, St. Pancras International Station, King's Cross Station (where we catch the train to Edinburgh on Saturday) and back to St. Paul's Cathedral.
Since it was 5 O'clock already, we decided to take a chance on the tube. It was crowded, but faster than the bus.
We opted for cheese and crackers, with wine of course, for dinner since we had a big lunch. We'll climb into our comfy little bed for a good night's sleep and be ready for another day.
