Customs was a breeze--nothing to declare--yet! We have 2 large bags, 2 small bags, a backpack and a purse-- vagabonds on vacation!
On to"the tube" enroute to our apartment. We really struggled with all the bags on the subway and negotiating the stairs. Young people came to our rescue several times and we were amazed at their willingness to help and were very grateful for their kindness. After departing the station, we rolled our bags to the apartment. (Not realizing it was so far or we would have made other arrangements--next time we will!). We met our landlord, Alvin, and he gave us a quick tour of the apartment and some important info.
Then we were off to get something to eat and get the lay of the land around us. We opted for a burger, hot dog, chips and a couple of beers in the beer garden at the Blind Beggar around the corner from the apartment.
Back to the apt. for some much needed sleep so we can hit the ground running tomorrow--bag free!!
