Day Trip to Cartagena

We started out our day with an hour walk on the promenade.  We got what we thought was an early start, but you should have seen the crowd that beat us to the punch.  We were late comers, but did have a nice walk in the early morning before it got too hot.
Cartagena was the order of the day.  It's only about 20 minutes from Los Alcazares.  Center city was bustling due to the cruise ship docked in the harbor.

To avoid the crowds we headed for the Roman ruins of the city.  Cartagena is excavating the ruins from the first century B.C.

We saw many interesting sights, but it was a very hot day and we were hungry,  so it was off for a lunch break.  We're in Spain!  Lunch is Sangria and paella.  We went in search of the world's oldest submarine.  Not to be found--must be getting a facelift.
Back to Los Alcazares after a wonderful day in Cartagena.  We really liked this interesting town.
Just one question for my faithful readers...
