The London Eye

When we were in London 5 years ago, I wanted to ride "The Eye", but the line was too long and it was expensive.  Well, I've waited 5 years and the time has come.  Tickets purchased, we were able to walk right on.  The wheel never stops, "step on."

We shared our pod with 3 girls from Chicago and a local--good company.  The last ride (9pm) was the time chosen so we could see London light up at night.  It was still not dark yet but the city was just starting to light up.  We had a spectacular view of Westminster!

One of the walking bridges erected to commemorate the Queens Golden jubilee leading into the Embarkment train station was beginning to light up.

The views are beyond spectacular, as far as the eye could see in every direction.

We could see the County Hall light up just below us.

The top was breathtaking, the kayaks looked like koi fish in the Thames.

Thirty minutes and the ride is over.  We walked across the Golden Jubilee Bridge and back to the apartment.

Worth the five year wait for sure!
